SNOW LEOPARDS are ENDANGERED!
ACCORDING TO WWF, ABOUT 4,000 SNOW LEOPARDS STILL LIVED IN THE REMOTE HIGH MOUNTAIN REGIONS OF CENTRAL ASIA!
Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kirghiz Republic, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
On paper, Snow Leopards are protected in all these states where they live.
But for an effective protection exists no cross-border cooperation among them!
Hence, SNOW LEOPARDS are in border regions particularly at risk from poaching!
Frequently are also military personnel and border guards among the poachers!
Why? Especially wealthy, but still superstitious CHINESE pay very high PRICES for BODY PARTS of a SNOW LEOPARD!
A world without us would be a miserable world! Wouldn't it?
